December 2010 – Anthony Garza

Meet one of our CrossFitters, Anthony Garza!!

Comments From CFV:

Tony, has been in our community for a few months now and has shown an extreme dedication towards improving his overall health and fitness.  He shows no fear when attempting a new skill or weight. We love seeing his enthusiasm and readiness every time he walks into the gym.  He doesn’t hesitate to help and motivate other athletes, and we are very excited to see him grow in our community as a great CrossFiter.
Keep it up Tony!! Your dedication can be very contagious.

How long have you been CrossFiting?

Since mid August 2010

What goals have you achieved?

Overall body strength and I am able to do squats, which I really never have done since high school.

What are your future goals?

Consistent double unders and out skiing my buddies this coming ski season because of the CrossFit training.

What are you most proud of as a CFV Athlete?

By far the friendships I’ve made along the way at CrossFit. The CrossFit athletes are so supportive of one another and competative at the same time which makes you better person and athlete.

What is your favorite thing about Cross Fit Victorious?

Pretty much, having your work out agenda done for you, and then performing it with my new friends.

What other fitness related activities do you participate in outside of CF?

My 3 kids keep me pretty active in general but the other thing I do with my older son is Golf. We don’t ride we walk in case your wondering. Also, I am involved in Conquest which is Legionnaires of Christ organization which forms young men in their faith and builds on virtues. We also do a lot of athletic activities which I’m proud to say I can keep up with some these young men.

How has CF helped you with those activities?

My overall stamina has improved and posture for the golfing thing.

Least favorite Bench Mark “Girl WOD or Movement? Why?

I don’t have a least favorite “Girl” workout but the”Filthy Fifty” is on the short list along with the 400m lunge steps with a weighted bar, with push presses after every 10 steps. It took me the weekend to get over that one.

Favorite bench mark “girl” WOD or movement? Why?

Helen is fun.  It has running, kettle bell swings and pull ups.  The things I need improvement on.

Any other comments:

I just want to thank you “The Espinoza’s” for their dedication to their athletes, and John for his motivation. It is not easy running a business but your hard work is paying off. God’s Blessings to you all!
